The model was built in 1927 to the specifications of the shipyard’s rigger, James Palmer of Bath, Maine; it was re-rigged in the 1980’s. Provenance includes the history of the voyages the ship itself, copies of bills of lading, crew rosters and wage payment and genealogy of the ship’s captain, Abrah Curtis. Original letters from James Drummond, for whom the ship is named, are contained within this grouping. Documentation of the building of the model, including receipts for materials and time records, newspapers articles regarding the model, and numerous letters documenting the research between the model’s builders, Atty. Donald J. Lynn, and the descendants of the Minott Shipyard are contained in the collection. It measures 32 x 20h. Includes excellent documentation of the original vessel.
